About the role:
A Platform Engineer plays a crucial role in the development, deployment, and maintenance of a company's software applications by focusing on the underlying infrastructure and platforms that support these applications. The role involves a combination of skills related to infrastructure management, automation, and collaboration
Desired Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role.
Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components.
Work with Docker and Kubernetes to build, deploy, and manage containerized applications in a scalable and efficient manner.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of applications.
Contribute to the design and architecture of the underlying infrastructure and platform services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Collaborate with development teams to understand application requirements and provide infrastructure solutions that meet their needs.
Implement and manage monitoring solutions for applications and infrastructure. Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability.
Implement security best practices for infrastructure and platform services. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Perform capacity planning to ensure the infrastructure can handle current and future application demands. Implement scaling strategies to accommodate changes in workload.
Work with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to leverage cloud infrastructure and services. Optimize costs and manage resources efficiently.
