Software engineer

I’m a software engineer with experience in both front-end and back-end web development. In a recent project, I developed a full stack app, where I used JavaScript and React components to ensure the frontend user experience was seamless and I built robust Node.js API endpoints to implement backend logic and retrieve SQL data. My project management and problem-solving acumen that were used to develop my software skills were honed through my 5 year career as a Mechanical Engineer.

As a Mechanical Engineer I worked for the Navy, optimizing performance and safety of US submarines where I learned to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, and lead process changes to improve efficiency, quality, and performance. As part of this , I was hand picked to lead a team in implementing a new repair process that successfully reduced production and labor costs by 30%. 

My background in troubleshooting and passion for improving performance strengthens my abilities to solve and optimize difficult applications of code. I believe my accomplished project management and interdisciplinary skills positions me as a valuable asset to any software development team.
